This design for a contemporary new home is based on a traditional hay barn form. It is set within the grounds of a listed building which required a sensitive approach to its surroundings. The design makes use of minimalist materials including zinc roofing and white vertical timber boarding. The large barn size glazed openings to the south and west are glazed with contemporary thin framed steel windows. It makes good use of a south facing double height space for the kitchen / dining room. The dining area then opens into the garden with full height glazed gable and patio doors.
